What is Medical Grade Peels
Age and sun exposure are two of the primary reasons why the skin changes. Collagen, elastin and hydration levels decline, lines and wrinkles become more prominent and pigmentation can appear.
At Skin Confidence Clinic, we use medical grade peels to decongest the pores and remove damaged skin cells. After just one peel, your skin will look smoother, more radiant and refreshed.
We offer three different peels, each of which has unique benefits and addresses specific concerns. Once we’ve evaluated your skin and have a better idea of what your concerns are, we can advise you on the right peel for your skin.
Medical Grade Peels
Ageless Collagen Peel
This leave-on collagen peel is infused with vitamin A and ideal for treating acne, pigmentation, melasma and general signs of ageing. The peel also contains amino acids and an exfoliating AHA blend. Once the peel is applied, it works at a deep level to normalise cell production and revitalise your skin. The result is smoother, brighter, more youthful skin.
Salicylic Acid Peel
If acne is your primary concern, the salicylic acid peel is the best option. This peel deeply exfoliates the skin, breaking down the bonds that hold the skin cells together. Doing so causes them to peel or shed over several days. The result is a clearer, cleaner layer of skin. In the case of acne, it also helps kill off the bacteria that causes breakouts.
Jessner Peel
The Jessner peel is a medium peel that treats ageing skin, melasma and general pigmentation. The peel is made up of lactic and salicylic acid as well as other additional ingredients. Once applied, the peel removes the top layers of the skin, revealing a smoother, even tone underneath. The Jessner peel removes skin cells from the dermis, epidermis and the top layer of the skin.

After the treatment
Patients are free to return to their normal activities directly after their medical grade peels appointment at Skin Confidence Clinic. However, the leave-on Ageless Collagen Peel will need to stay in contact with the skin for at least 6 hours. It’s for this reason that you may want to avoid any strenuous activities. The peel can be removed at home using a gentle cleanser.
Your skin may look slightly red for a day or two and there will be some mild flaking for several days too. This is completely normal and indicates your skin is regenerating. You can continue to follow your normal skincare regime during the peeling phase. Since your skin will be sensitive, it’s important to use sunscreen whenever you leave the house. Any skincare products with active ingredients should be avoided for about a week.
