How it works
Fotona LipLase treatments use thermally induced laser energy to heat the lip area gently. This has two key lip plumping benefits.
Firstly, this works to tighten and firm the skin surrounding the lips, which creates a fuller appearance in the lips themselves. More importantly, such laser energy stimulates the production of collagen in the lips, which, in time, gives the lips a fuller, smoother, more youthful-looking appearance. Treatments work by targeting the corner of the mouth, border of the lips, grooves between the nose and upper lip AND the inner lips to stimulate collagen from all directions to ensure optimal results.
What to expect

Fotona LipLase treatments take between 15 and 20 minutes to complete. As the laser targets your lips, you may experience a gentle pinch or a warming sensation, however, this will dissipate once the treatment ends. Overall, treatments are relatively painless, and, as such, no anaesthetic is required. After your Fotona LipLase treatment, you are immediately free to resume your regular activities.

Fotona LipLase results
While results will vary from patient to patient, many do not notice results immediately. Collagen takes time to rebuild, meaning that you will gradually see results over a three to four-month period. The positive to this is that results will appear natural, meaning that nobody will know you’ve had anything done! Keep in mind that your lips will eventually continue to age once more, meaning that you may require maintenance treatments to keep up your results.
How many treatments will I need?
To achieve the best results, we usually recommend three to four treatments, spaced one month apart. To maintain this, we suggest follow-up treatments every three months.
Fotona LipLase recovery
There is absolutely no downtime required after a Fotona LipLase treatment, meaning that you are free to resume your daily activities immediately. However, you may experience some slight swelling or peeling of the lips: this is normal and should resolve within a day or two. Following your Fotona LipLase treatment, diligent sun care is a must, so we suggest applying an SPF 50+ to the treated area daily.
