Laser Hair Reduction with PrimeLase

During your consultation at Skin Confidence Clinic, we will give you a better idea of how many sessions you will require to eliminate any unwanted hair. This will differ for everyone because there are several factors that need to be considered.

Once the applicator is applied to the skin, the laser light is absorbed by the hair follicles. The heat from the laser destroys the hair follicles, which end up falling out naturally. One of the benefits of the PrimeLase system is its built-in cooling system. It ensures patients are comfortable throughout their session.

While patients usually only require about six sessions, the duration of each session will depend on the number of areas needing treatment. The thickness and colour of the hair will also play a role in the number of sessions required. Each session needs to be spaced four to six weeks apart.

One of the key benefits of the PrimeLase system is that it only targets the melanin in the hair follicles, ensuring the surrounding skin is protected. Any area on the face or body is suitable for treatment but the legs, back and arms are some of the most popular.

Patients should avoid extreme temperatures for at least a day after treatment. The treated area should also be well protected from the sun since the skin will be sensitive.

Unfortunately, tattooed skin and pregnant or nursing women cannot be treated with PrimeLase. Any patients who currently have cancer or an active skin condition also won’t be suitable candidates for laser hair reduction.

There’s very little chance that the unwanted hair will return unless hormonal changes occur, such as in the case of pregnancy. If this is the case, further sessions may be required.
