What to expect
Before the procedure, you will have a consultation with our experienced therapist who will determine your suitability for the procedure and will evaluate your skin concerns to determine the direction of the treatment. The Ultraformer III is a device that sends HIFU energy towards key target areas of the skin. The device has both micro and macro depth focused cartridges that are chosen by our team to suit your personal skincare needs. One course of Ultraformer III treatment is three sessions, spaced one month apart and each individual session is 60 minutes.
Before the treatment, the pinch test is used to determine the thickness of the area being treated. Our experienced therapist will assess your skin in a check up and will determine the target areas. The treatment area will then be outlined with a template to ensure the correct area is targeted. Ultrasound gel will then be applied to the skin to prepare the skin for treatment.
The treatment is divided into two phases: the inflammation phase and the remodelling phase.
The inflammation phase begins with the treatment sending ultrasound beams directly to the three key layers of the skin to begin the process of producing more collagen and elastin. The energy is sent towards the dermis which will cause inflammation in the tissue. The inflammation will then stimulate the growth of fibrous tissue to heal the tissue. Once the beams are projected at the skin, the tissue will begin to contract and the skin will tighten. The Ultraformer III uses controlled ultrasound energy which heats the skin. Patients who are unable or unwilling to undergo surgery are an ideal candidate for the Ultraformer III. The ideal age range for the Ultraformer III, ranges from 30 years of age to 80 years old.
